Description
I made this shirt for my husband almost 30 years ago shortly after we started Civil War Re-enacting. Too busy outfitting a family and sewing for others, I kept mending and mending this shirt year after year. The last four pictures posted on this listing are of the upper inside of the garment, which as you can see, is literally in shreds. At first, I used large pieces of fabric I had left to cover the entire upper back and some of the shredded front. Of course, the white collar is not original either, though it works very well. Finally, the white patch was put on the front when my store of matching fabric gave out. My husband is very happy for some newer shirts, now that a fellow re-enactor has given us many of his shirts. (By the way, my husband is the model for the listing photos.) Of course, I am selling as is.Nice full cut with gussets at underarm sleeve. Lightweight and battle-worthy.
